A regenerative design laboratory.

We want to live in a world where people have access and opportunity to the support systems they need to do the important work. In our experience, the work that feels "right," can feel like a sacrifice and does not offer much sustenance. We're trying to change that by better coordinating the way we live with each other and the environment. Guided by the principles of belonging, regeneration, and resilience, we strive to make our world a better place for all.

The first component of Kula Labs focuses on the individual. It is an onboarding for people who are drawn to the idea of regenerative living as a pathway to find a sense of belonging and purpose in their daily life, something they may lack. We’re not promising our way is “the” way, but it is meant to help us meaning-make, and it definitely feels more fulfilling. This process, thus, is all about setting the scene, providing space to regenerate ourselves, before we can regenerate the Earth.

The other facet of Kula Labs involves collaborative sessions on landscape research, project ideation through gaining an awareness of regenerative flows, and strengthening relationships. This effort leads to the design of community-led regenerative projects, the establishment of localized support systems, the empowerment of the fellow as a landscape leader embedded not just within the community, but with an implementing organisation that is aligned with Kula’s mission. The tangible outcome encompasses the design of regenerative projects for implementation with the (partner) organisation.

An integral part of the Kula Labs journey involves the sharing of stories and documenting the progress of regenerative initiative outcomes. This dynamic process results in a growing repository of our collective’s projects and learnings and opens the door for individuals and partner organisations to weave with each other within a landscape.
